Hide & Seek

Tonight we had a really fun game of hide & seek!

All I have to say is, boy-oh-boy, these guys are good at hiding!

I had such a tough time finding them.

I looked high and low and I finally found them all... EXCEPT for Hippity-Hop!  He is just too good at hiding!  I hope C & T can find him because I've been looking all night and I'm getting tired!  I'm going to make one more sweep of the house and then I'm going to put myself to bed.  Good luck boys!

A little Computer Time

Tonight I just relaxed and played some computer games online.  I really like to play solitare, mahjong, and of course any Christmas type games!

I also changed the background pictures on all of the computers in the house.  I made them more festive.  I hope the family doesn't mind.  I had some hot chocolate and a cupcake, too.  I also played with the dog, Cooper.  He sure is a fun dog.  Overall, it was a good night!

That's a wrap

I just love wrapping gifts!
I hope the boys I'm staying with will enjoy what I wrapped for them!
I found things that I know they use every day!  So, I'm sure they'll love their gifts!

I even found things to wrap for Holiday Mom & Holiday Dad!  But I got a little wrapped up in what I was doing!
I really hope they like their presents.  I carefully placed them under the tree.  But, I can't remember where I put the other gifts I wrapped.  I think I put them in a closet inside big gift sacks.  I'm sure they'll find them!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today was December 5th, and a very special day for me!  It was my birthday!!  And imagine my surprise when I got back from the North Pole and my friends had planned a birthday party for me!

I ran upstairs looking for everyone (because I had a really great idea of some mischief we could get into) and I couldn't find anyone I was looking for!  I started to get sad because I thought everyone decided to go out and have fun without me... and on my birthday too!!  So, I came downstairs to get some hot chocolate, and SURPRISE!  There everyone was with party streamers and cupcakes and everything!  They really got me this time.

(Snake took this picture, he was hanging from the ceiling fan!  What a hoot!)

We had such a good time... in fact, we are still whooping it up, but I wanted to take a minute to write to my 2 favorite guys!  We're getting ready to start a limbo line, so I better go stretch!  Back home at the Pole, I am very very good at limbo, but I'm thinking the snake is going to win this time!  I hope you guys have a great day at school!  Don't forget to put me back in my sleigh bed, I'm sure I'm going to be extra tired!

Snowball Fight!

Holiday Mom & Dad put up the outside decorations today!  It looks so festive and sparkely outside.  It reminds me of home!  It's beautiful.  And C & T put up some window cling decorations on the windows of the house.  Some snowflakes and some Charlie Brown & Snoopy Christmas ones.  They are so neat.  And they did a really good job putting them on the windows!  It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around here.  I love it!  Tonight I started a snowball fight with my friends!  Well, it was actually a cottonball fight since I didn't want to leave a snowy mess for Holiday Mom & Dad.  But, I saw the cottonballs in the bathroom, and I thought they looked a lot like snowballs, so I got them out and the fun began!  It was such a blast and we were all laughing and having such a good time, I thought we might wake up the household! Check out our "snow forts", too!

Rudy didn't want to get in on the fun, but I forced him to!  He was so busy taking pictures, I don't think he saw this "snowball" coming!

SPLAT!!  What fun we all had!  I'm gonna go get back to the "snowball" wars!  I'd love to hear from you all!  Leave me a message if you have time!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

Tonight I spent most of my time at the North Pole!  I had quite a bit of paperwork to do and unfortunately we had several elves that were asked to come back to the Pole for some additional training.  It seems some of the new recruits have been getting into mischief more than they've been watching the children they are visiting.  And since I am an elf trainer, I had a lot of work to do getting them back on the right path. We elves are allowed to have fun and get into a little mischief while we are away visiting our Holiday families, but our #1 priority is ALWAYS to keep an eye on the children and their behavior.  (We even keep a wink of an eye on the adults as well.)  Some elves, usually the new recruits spending their first Christmas out in the field, get a bit too excited about being away from home and they have a wee bit too MUCH fun.  If this happens, Santa will request that they be sent back for a day or two (or more sometimes) for some additional training.  If we don't do our job as elves properly, how can Santa possibly know which children belong on the nice list and which children belong on the dreaded naughty list?  So, since I didn't spend much time at my Holiday home tonight, I thought I'd bring back something from the Pole for the kids.
I brought them some fresh North Pole snow!!  I know they see snow all winter long, but they've never seen North Pole snow!  I hope they enjoy it!  But, I have to warn you... North Pole snow is very very special!  YOU CANNOT EAT NORTH POLE SNOW!!  NEVER EVER EVER!  EATING IT WILL MAKE YOU VERY SICK!  So, C & T... DO NOT EAT THE SNOW!
(By the way, I heard that the boys I'm staying with did very very well on their school projects!  Way to go C & T!  I'm so proud of you !)

Bowl-a-thon

First I have to say a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Holiday Dad!  He turned the big 3-0!  But he doesn't look a day over 29!  I'll be celebrating my birthday on the 5th, so it's exciting that our birthday's are so close together.  Tonight I went back to the Pole and reported some wonderful things about the boys I'm staying with.  They were very kind today and listened to Holiday Mom & Dad very well.  They studied hard for the tests they have to take tomorrow and the oldest boy worked very hard on his project for Social Studies.  I'm sure he's going to get a good grade.  Santa was very pleased with the report he got tonight!  When I got back I played in a Bowl-a-Thon with my friends!

(You can see my North Pole door in these pictures!  Isn't it festive with the Holiday wreath and lights!)

Bowling was so much fun!  We must have bowled 10 games or more.  My pal, Pepsi, was the winner.  Cowboy came in 2nd place and I came in 3rd place!  What a great time!  The only thing that would have made it better would have been if it was Glow-Bowling!  We play Glow-Bowling at the Pole every Friday night!  I better wrap this up, I've got to show my friends some trick bowling moves!  Have a great day at school tomorrow C & T and good luck on your tests and report!

Bringing the outdoors In!

Tonight, I found out that my Holiday family went on a magical journey to a place called "Columbus".  It's far away (though not as far as the North Pole) about an hour drive.  They went to the Columbus Zoo to see the "Wild Lights".  When I first heard them talking about the "wild lights" it made me very nervous.  All I could imagine was lions and tigers and bears... oh my!!  But, I talked to one of our Ranger elves (these are the elves that are out and about all year round to check up on kids) and they explained to me that it's a really cool Holiday light display that they do at the Zoo each winter!  There are no big scary animals running loose around the Zoo!  That calmed me and I decided I was really glad my family got to enjoy such a neat experience.  I wish I had been able to go to see the lights, so I decided to bring the lights to ME!!

How great is that!!  I got to decorate the house with my own version of "Wild Lights"!  I hope the family doesn't mind me putting the outdoor decorations up inside!  I had so much fun decorating! Decorating for Christmas is one of my favorite things to do!

Relaxing and crafting

Last night was so relaxing.  I spent quite a while in a nice marshmallow bath in Holiday Dad's bathroom sink.  So nice to have all that sugary goodness to enjoy.  I want to say a giant thank you to Holiday Dad for letting me use his sink even though it probably made it difficult for him to get ready for work in the morning.
I went back to the Pole tonight, as I do every night, to report to The Jolly Guy and I got to see my Mom & Dad for a little while.  We had some hot chocolate and peppermint cookies.  It was nice to see them.  They are toy makers, so this is a very busy time for them.  I was glad they had some time to visit with me and enjoy some goodies.  When I got back, I decided to make the boys a Christmas Countdown paper chain.  These paper chains are so easy to make and they are actually the way we elves keep track of how many days are left until Christmas at the Pole.  I hope they like it and remember to take a paper chain link off each day!

My friend Rudy is actually helping me make this chain. (He's also been taking pictures for me each night!)  He lives with the family all year long, but when I visit, I bring plenty of extra magic dust for him and some of my other friends.  Well, I'm going to finish this paper chain.  Rudy and I have several links to go before my Holiday Family gets up!
P.S.- Thank you for the candy corns in my bed!  They were so yummy!  I ate them as soon as I got up!  Delicious!

Fun and Games!

Well last night was a blast!  Me and the gang hung out all night playing Candy Land!  What a great game!  All about candy... my favorite thing to eat!  Everyone played at least one game, but when you saw us, Cowboy was sitting out just watching.  We had lemon heads and whoppers and candy corn, yum!

I see that my family has decorated their Christmas tree and I must say, they did a much better job than I did!  Nice work Holiday Mom & Dad!  And the dining room table looks nice too.  Like a cozy place to enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate! Tonight I think I'll just relax and enjoy a nice long marshmallow bath.  I hope you boys have a nice day at school.  Write back to me!

Decorating the tree!

I noticed that my host family has set their Christmas tree up but they have not yet decorated it.  I decided I would do them a favor and help them decorate it!  I think I did a pretty good job, but tell me what you think!
I had so much fun!  I don't think they will be keeping my decorations though since they'll probably need these underwear at some point!  Tonight I think I'm going to just hang out with the gang and play some games.  I really wish the boys I'm visiting would write to me.  They can just click on the word "comments" right down below this post and they can send me a message.  I really hope to hear from you guys!

I've Arrived

So, I finally arrived at my host family's home last night!  My two favorite children were nestled all snug in their.... TENT!???  They were in their tent sleeping in the middle of the living room floor.  What a fun idea!  Camping IN!  They are very clever little guys.  I didn't want to wake them by getting into too much mischief, so I just hung out, updated my blog, introduced myself to the family dog (Cooper is his name and he seems quite friendly!) and I fell asleep on top of the tent!  It was a long journey from the Pole and I was really very tired anyway.  Tonight is going to be much more exciting.  My things are being delivered by Elf Air tonight, so I'll have my bed and blanket and everything else I need.  I hope my family remembers to put me back in my bed each day so I can get a good night's (or day's) sleep.  It was a bit uncomfortable on top of that tent!

Well, I'm off to see what kind of fun I can have!

I'm back!

I'm so excited!  Tonight I'm leaving for the holiday season to visit my host family!  I'm going to be leaving in just a few hours.  Just finishing up a few things and saying my goodbyes to my friends and family.  My mom and dad sure do miss me when I'm gone, but they understand that it's an important job and they are proud of me.  I can't wait to get there and see my family again.

This year is especially exciting.  The Jolly Guy is allowing me to test a very special new project this holiday season.  While I'm visiting my host family in Ohio, I'll have a special way to get back to the North Pole each and every night to report to Santa.  I can't give out any more information right now, but it's going to be great!  Imagine... I can come back to the North Pole for a little while and file my reports about the children I'm visiting and be back to their house in no time at all to see what kind of mischief I can get into.  Plus, I'll have time to update my blog and maybe even post pictures about my visit while I'm back at the Pole!  And the children I'm visiting can write to me too!  This is going to be so much fun!

Well, it's time for hot chocolate and then I'm off on my journey to Ohio!

BIG NEWS!!

Now that Thanksgiving is almost upon us, I am getting ready to bid safe travels to some of my most special friends. The elves are practically jumping up and down with excitement to visit their host families!

In only a few short nights, some of the elves will reunite with the families they know and love for the Christmas season.  They are ready to spend time with the children and have fun getting into all sorts of mischief
during their visits!  In fact a few elves have left already on their journey.

If your elf doesn't come this week, don't you worry! Some elves still have to finish their jobs at the North Pole. All of them can't leave at the same time; otherwise, The Jolly Guy would not have enough toys ready for all the children!

I have gotten early notice that I will be returning to my host family in Ohio!  I can't wait to see my friends again.  Elf Laney, who left early this year to visit his host family, stopped by my Ohio family's house to see if they were getting decorations out yet, and guess what he saw?!  It appears that my host family got a dog since the last time I was there!  This will be interesting!  I just hope he is a friendly dog!  I'm still not sure what day exactly I will be able to leave the North Pole.  My elf training job is very important and I still have a few elves that have to graduate and receive their diplomas and passports in the next couple of days.

Time for hot chocolate... I hope I can sleep tonight since I am soooooo excited about going back to Ohio for the holidays!

November

Wow!! Are we really this close to Christmas? We must be because the elves have been in a flurry of movement the past few weeks. After wrapping up a fun Halloween at the North Pole, the elves are making sure everything is ready for the big night and are anxiously awaiting their departure from the North Pole to visit their host families.

I don't know where the elves find the time, but after breakfast with Mrs. Claus the other day, I arrived at the toy shop to find pumpkins and gourds decorating our snowy front steps! The elves sure do like to decorate for the holidays! I can't wait to see what they do for Christmas before they head to their host families' homes! Sometimes I think the elves practice their mischief at the North Pole in preparation for their visits to your homes! Just yesterday an elf covered the entire gift wrapping room with red and white stripped candy canes to surprise his friend for his birthday!

I haven't found out yet where I'll be spending December.  I have put in my request to visit the same family I stayed with last year.  Most elves return to the same home year after year so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.  Plans are always final by Thanksgiving.
