Merry Christmas to All

Merry Christmas Everyone
I'm wishing my Holiday Family a very Merry Christmas.  It has been a fun holiday season here in Ohio.  I enjoyed my time here and am so grateful I will always have this blog to look back at all the great adventures I've had with my Holiday Family.  I'm excited to see my family and friends back at The Pole again though.  And, I look forward to spending Christmas with them.  I have been working for a couple of weeks on these ornaments for "C" and "T".  I hope you like them.  I will miss you all so very much and I can't wait to return next December.  Remember, I will be checking in on you throughout the year to make sure you are doing well and are staying on the "Nice" list.  Remember to love, obey, and listen to your Mom & Dad.  They sure do love you a lot.  Keep up the good work in school and be kind to your teachers.  Remember that I love you and that I hope you have the best Christmas ever!

P.S.  I noticed the white boards on your door.  So very nice of you to welcome Santa... and I will miss you too!

Reading Material

Well, that evening of fun and games didn't go quite as planned.  I had a blast playing out in the snow.  However, I had a little trouble with my wind gliding stunt.  The first several wind gliding jumps from the roof went perfectly.  Then the last one, well... as you can see, didn't end quite as well.

I got stuck in a tree in the front yard.  Rudy tried to get me down, but the more he worked on the strings, the more tangled I got.  I told him to just leave me there until my Holiday Family woke up and found me.  Of course, I asked him to snap a quick picture of my mischief so I could post it on my blog for memories.  Thank goodness Holiday Dad got me down in the morning

As is tradition... I am going to spend my last full night at my Holiday Home cuddled up with a sweet treat, a cup of cocoa and a good book.  'Twas The Night Before Christmas is a classic and is a must read book for December 24th.  I'll be leaving with Santa soon to head back to The Pole.  I will miss my Holiday Family.  But, for now, I'm going to enjoy my time here.

Some Outdoor Fun

It has finally snowed here in Ohio!  So, I decided to go out and about to play in it.  I'm not sure how long I'll be outside so I'm posting this before I even go out.  I plan to make snow angels and go sledding and I might even do some wind gliding.  That's right... I brought back a wind gliding parachute from my last visit to The Pole and I'd like to try it out.  I hope I get back inside before my Holiday Family wakes up.  If I don't make it back in, well I hope they find me and tuck me back in my nice warm bed.  Only 2 days left til The Jolly Guy stops by... I'm getting so excited!

Held Hostage

Well, I'm sure you noticed I didn't post anything last night.  The reason was simple... THIS...

Yep, I was having fun playing hide & seek with some friends and they tricked me and took me hostage!  Rudy captured this photo of my situation.  So, now you can see why I didn't put anything on my blog last night.  It was all in good fun though!

Tonight I headed back to The Pole to check in with The Jolly Guy.  He ordered a special report from all his elves.  I guess there's been some shifting on the Naughty and Nice list lately and he's trying to get it all figured out.  I reported "Nice" for both "C" and "T".  They are good boys.  After I returned (and after having a tough night last night) I decided to take it easy.  I left a message for my Holiday Family... and had a snack!

The True Meaning of Christmas

I thought I'd share with the boys I'm visiting how very special this holiday is.  And it's not about The Jolly Guy or us elves or gifts or stockings... it's about the birth of Jesus.  I noticed there's no nativity scene in the house, so I thought I'd bring them one that they can keep to remember each year what the true meaning of Christmas is all about.

Luke 2:7 And she brought forth her firstborn Son,
and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger;
because there was no room for them in the inn.

2:8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

2:9 And, lo, the angel of the LORD came upon them, and the glory of the LORD shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the LORD.

2:12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the Babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

2:13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Still No Snow

Well, it's December 18.  Christmas Day is only one week away... and there's still no snow here in Ohio!  I can't believe it.  Last week I made some marshmallow snowmen to make it seem a little more snowy and Christmas-like around here.  Tonight, I'm going bigger.  I'm making a life size snowman.  Maybe there will be snow soon, but until then... Enjoy this snowman!

Game Night

I had lots of fun tonight.  I snuck into the boys rooms and played some xbox on their game systems.  Those games are very interesting.  I did not care for the shooting games but I liked playing football and some of the other games they have.

A Breakfast Treat

I'm leaving my Holiday Family a breakfast treat for Monday morning.  I hope they like it.  "C" and "T" only have 4 days of school left before they are off for Christmas break.  I hope this breakfast treat kicks off a great last week of school for them!

A Morning Surprise

I had to be extremely sneaky tonight with my mischief.  I wanted to surprise "C" and "T" when they woke up on Sunday morning.  But, I had to wait until everyone was fast asleep and I had to move very quietly since their surprise was right outside their bedroom doors!  SURPRISE!!!!

My Favorite Way to Snack

I LOVE OREO COOKIES!!!  I love them.  We eat them all the time back at The Pole usually with milk.  Holiday Mom brought home a container of Oreo cookies from the grocery store today.  Double stuffed ones... Yum!  So, naturally, I had to have some.  My favorite part of the Oreo is the white in the middle... I generally just eat the filling and leave the chocolate cookie behind.  I hope someone in the house likes the chocolate cookie part.

It's Just How I Roll

Tonight I found a really fun activity to pass the time.  I jumped inside a roll of paper I found in the bathroom and took a tumble down the stairs.  I did it several times.  The tough part was rolling the paper back up so I could do it all over again.  But, it was worth it.  I had lots of fun and was laughing so loudly, I'm surprised my Holiday Family didn't wake up.

Take Cover

I went to another Holiday concert tonight.  This time it was for "C".  He plays in the school orchestra and they did an amazing job!  I hid inside Holiday Mom's purse to get there because I knew "C" and "T" would be looking for me in the back seat.  As soon as we got to the school, I jumped out of Holiday Mom's purse and found a quiet place to watch.  And tonight, I made it back to my bed before anyone noticed I was even gone!  The music was beautiful.  They played one of my very favorite songs... 'Believe' from one of the greatest Christmas movies EVER... The Polar Express.  Oh, it was so beautiful.  Then they played some other lovely songs.  Then the band played.  They were good too, but I thought the orchestra shined.  The band is so loud and not as smooth and beautiful as the orchestra.  Way to go "C"... you did great!

Tonight Holiday Mom popped some popcorn so I decided to create a little fun with it.  We built forts and launched popcorn "bombs" at each other.  It was a blast.  We made a little mess, but I don't think anyone will mind.  It was so much fun.

Christmas Music

Tonight, "T" had a Christmas concert for his school.  So, of course, I had to sneak out of the house to see him sing!  I even rode in the van with them... and I don't even think they knew it!  I hid in the back behind the 3rd row of seats. Hee hee... I am a sneaky little elf.  I tried to sneak back into my bed when they got home, but I wasn't quick enough and ended up just sitting beside my bed.  "T" & "C" both saw that I wasn't in my bed... so, I think they knew I had been out and about.  The concert was wonderful!  I had such a great time listening to "T" sing with his classmates.  They sang 'Do You Hear What I Hear' and 'Feliz Navidad' and a couple of other catchy Christmas tunes... But, my favorite was 'Silent Night'... they learned how to do the song in sign language!  I was very very impressed.  It was beautiful to watch.  Way to go "T".  You did great!

On the way home, I heard "T" mention that it hadn't snowed yet.  And no snow means there's no snowman building going on.  So, I decided to build some for my Holiday Family.  I hope these little guys cheer you up about there being no snow.

Just Helping Out

I know this is a busy week for my Holiday Family.  "T" has basketball 3 days this week.  Plus, both boys have holiday concerts for their schools this week.  And, of course, Holiday Mom & Dad are busy trying to get ready for Christmas.  I was looking for something I could do around the house to help out.  I noticed that "T" is packing lunch 4 out of 5 days this week, so I thought I'd help out by packing his lunch for tomorrow.  I picked out all the best items I could find to make his lunch extra special... and, I won't mind if he has leftovers he has to bring home either!  Hope this helped!

P.S. I also received a lovely Christmas card from one of my elf buddies who is visiting a family in South Carolina.  Thanks for the card Elfie Elvis.

Gotta Keep In Shape

Holiday Mom has been making a list of things she is planning on baking for the Christmas season.  I love holiday baking.  All the sweets and candy and sugar and icing and yummy goodness.  I need to keep in shape though in order to be able to eat so many sweets like I do all year long at The Pole.  I mean, we elves eat like it's Christmas year round.  Since I've been here at my Holiday Home, I haven't been working out much.  So, tonight I decided I'd do some catching up on my workouts.

Hey... I know what you're thinking.  Not too tough because I'm just lifting marshmallows.  But, I'll have you know... those are JUMBO LARGE marshmallows.  Yeah, who's tough now?!

These Cookies Are Stale

When I got up tonight and walked around the house doing my nightly inspection to see how well the 2 boys have been cleaning up after themselves, I had to blink twice... three... four times.  In the back room of the house, there was a new Christmas tree!  It is beautiful.  It has colored lights and all these wonderful memory ornaments.  A had a tear in my eye when I saw the ornaments I've gotten "C" and "T" over the years hung proudly on the tree.  Oh, it is a magical looking tree!  I had to run back into the living room to see if there was still a Christmas tree in there.  Yep, there is.  So, my Holiday Family has two big beautiful trees in the house now and I also noticed the boys have their little Christmas trees in their rooms now too.  Oh, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.  I wanted to contribute to the winter decorating... So, I did a little more decorating for them.  I hope they like it.

I worked up such an appetite.  I went looking for a sweet treat and found some cookies in a jar labeled "Dog Treats".  They must have run out of room for these cookies in the cookie jar.  Cooper was chasing me around while I was trying to have a nibble.  I found a place to hide so I could have my treat in peace & quiet.  But, I have to say... these cookies were a little stale.  Holiday Mom might want to consider tossing them out before she does some more holiday baking.  I wonder why Cooper was chasing me though... Hmmm.

A Long Way Down

Did some bungee jumping tonight!  It was a blast!  Rudy dared me to bungee jump off the top of the mantle, and I couldn't resist the challenge.  I pushed the ladder closer to the mantle and climbed up.  It looked like a LOOOOOONG way down but I couldn't back down once I got up there.  So, I closed my eyes and took a step off the ledge.  And......... it............was............ AWESOME!!  It was so much fun!  So, I climbed right back up there and did it all over again...... Several times.  I think Rudy thought I'd be to scared and that I'd chicken out.  (And, I almost did... but don't tell him that.)  Instead, I got up there and just went for it.  And, wouldn't you know it... Rudy wouldn't even do it himself.  He was far too scared.

P.S.  Thanks for finishing your letter to Santa "T"... I have personally delivered it and I'm sure the Jolly Guy is looking it over.

Christmas Movie Marathon Night

I'm still recovering from the big birthday bash my friends threw for me last night!  So, I decided I would just hang out tonight and have my annual Christmas movie marathon.  And of course it wouldn't be complete unless I brought a new Christmas movie for my Holiday Family to enjoy too!  This year I brought them the movie Arthur Christmas.  It's a really funny movie and we love it at back at The Pole!

I went to get a cupcake left over from my birthday party last night and noticed that they were almost completely gone!!  (I have a feeling I know 2 young boys who gobbled them!)  I grabbed a cupcake and cozied up on the couch with my blanket to watch some movies.  I also found a nice stash of candy in a bag!  It was a strange bag though... It had a dollar sign on it... Hmmm, odd!  Well, it was full of loot... CANDY LOOT!  I just helped myself to a few pieces. Yum!
