He came to pick me up and I was really sad to go. I went in and gave "C" and "T" and Holiday Mom & Dad a goodbye kiss, gave Cooper a good scratch behind his ears and gave Melanie a "meow" goodbye as well. I sure will miss them all so much. I left a family gift behind for them to open on Christmas Morning and I also left "C" and "T" some ornaments. This year in Ohio sure was a lot of fun. Of course, Rudy stays behind to keep a year-round eye on things and I'll drop in from time to time.

Keep up with your school work boys. Remember, good grades are important. Be good for your Mom & Dad... they sure love you both a lot. Be kind to one another... always. And remember to always be there for one another. I love you all very much and thank you for letting me come visit again this year. I hope you will let me come back next year. Have a holly, jolly Christmas (it really IS the best time of the year). Hugs, Kisses, and love to you all.
When all through the house
Not a creature was stirring...
Except for me!

My last night in Ohio with my Holiday Family was spent, as usual, catching up on a good book, drinking some cocoa, and eating a snack. Just relaxing and enjoying my time here. We finally got caught up on toys at The Pole! Things are pretty much ready to go for the big night. I think there are a few thousand toys left to wrap, but that should be quick work for the Wrapping Dept. Then the Jolly Guy will be set and ready to roll for Christmas. It's such an exciting time!

I've been having so much fun around here. I slept under the Christmas tree one night. I love doing that. It's like sleeping under the stars... it's so beautiful. Have you ever spent time under the Christmas tree just looking up? If you haven't, I highly recommend it. I played hide and seek with Rudy. I hid in "T's" stocking. Rudy never found me! I had to stay there until my Holiday Family found me. I also camped out in the living room and roasted marshmallows. JUMBO MARSHMALLOWS! I could only eat part of one though because they were huge. I played Captain America with my friends.

I did annual movie night and watched all my favorites! Polar Express, Elf, Home Alone, Arthur Christmas... I love them all. My friends and I snuggled up with some delicious candy. I brought along a movie popcorn and candy bucket for my Holiday Family to enjoy when they do their Christmas movie night. One night, I slept in "T's" bed with him but Melanie came in and pushed me out of his bed so she could sleep there. So, I tried to sleep in "C's" bed, but he moves around a lot and after he rolled onto me and pinned me down for 20 minutes, I decided I should just stick to sleeping in my own sleigh bed. All in all, I've been having loads of fun.
It's been a very busy time for me though. I've been traveling back and forth between Ohio and The Pole EVERY. SINGLE. NIGHT. You see, a terrible flu has been going around the Toy Department for the last month (the very busiest time of the year for the Toy Department) and they have been very short-handed. Even my Dad was sick in bed for over a week! So, The Jolly Guy asked for all elves who are feeling well enough to help out... even those on special assignment like me. I'll do anything to help out and make sure all the boys and girls get something from their Christmas wish list. Speaking of Christmas wish lists, I would like to thank "C" for getting his letter written so I could get it to The Pole in plenty of time. And thank you to "T" for getting his letter done as well. I was beginning to get worried that "T's" letter wouldn't get to The Pole in time!

So, what have I been up to during my visit? Oh, LOTS! I have zip-lined through the house, eaten some very delicious pie and candy, raced around the house riding on the back of my pal Rudy, left some fun new wooden toys for "C" and "T", played tic-tac-toe on the mirror, used a Frisbee to sled down the stairs, decorated the Christmas tree with streamers, watched "C" play his viola in the Christmas concert (He was amazing), watched "T" perform in his Christmas concert (Way to go "T"... I loved all your dancing), and I even tried to go to school with "T" one morning! So, as you can see... I've been having a blast! Tonight, I'm going to have a fiesta... then a siesta! I love visiting my Holiday Family!

I have had such a great time in Ohio this year! I did lots of fun things and best of all, I got to visit my favorite Holiday Family in the whole world! Thanks for letting me come and stay for this holiday season. I spent my last night here packing up my things and giving my Holiday Family goodbye kisses. Even the cat, Melanie, let me pet her and she purred back. (She's not always so friendly!) Cooper was sleeping, but I gave him a kiss and a good pet behind the ears. I think I heard him cry when I finally left the house. I will miss him... He likes to give me rides on his back around the house.

Saying goodbye to C & T is always the hardest. Thank you for writing such a nice note on your dry erase board. I made C & T some new ornaments this year for them to keep and put up on their tree each year. They are candy canes. I stuck one in each of their stockings. And I also brought my Holiday Family a gift this year. Something I've been working on back at The Pole. I hope they love it and I hope they play many, many games together with it.

C & T, please remember to be very good for your Mom and Dad. They love you very much and they are always there for you. Keep up good grades in school, remember... I am always keeping track of you! You are smart, fun, kind, and amazing boys and I love you!

P.S. I keep telling you, those of us from The Pole don't eat yellow snowmen! But, the Jolly Guy got a good chuckle out of seeing your yellow snowman cookie!Olliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15001805413457356710noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4986914588964624237.post-43984642341221017702013-12-24T04:30:00.000-05:002013-12-24T04:30:01.272-05:00The Night Before Christmas 2013Well, this is it. This is the last night I will be spending in my Holiday Home. The Jolly Guy will be here to pick me up soon. I love coming to Ohio to visit my Holiday Family, but I hate to leave. I miss them during the year, and I know that they miss me, too. As usual, my Christmas tradition on this night is to read The Night Before Christmas. I'm going to grab a cookie and settle in for a long winter's nap.
I can't wait for the big day! Holiday Mom & Dad were doing a lot of wrapping of gifts today. I thought I'd get in on the fun. I love wrapping things... anything really! I'm pretty sure C & T will like my wrapping as well. I sort of wrapped them into their rooms... I put wrapping paper over their doorways so they MUST jump through the paper in the morning in order to get out of their rooms. Hehe. What a fun way to start christmas break! I told you, I love wrapping things!
It's been very warm and all the snow is GONE!! And it's been raining like crazy. There's so much water and melted snow that my Holiday Home looks like there's a small pond in the front yard. Which would be nice... if it was frozen and I could ice skate on it. I sure hope it gets cold again and snows for Christmas here. I brought my Holiday Family a new festive door mat for their home. Thought it would be nice for them to have a place to put their wet shoes! It's even got an elf on it... like me!
I got to The Pole late and that wasn't very good. But, luckily, I have a very understanding boss. The Jolly Guy is a great guy to work for! Turned in my daily report on C & T and then I went to visit my family. Mom & Dad are doing great. Dad is busy as ever looking over things in the toy dept. He's working on some really great new toy designs. Unfortunately, they'll have to go through testing and won't be available this Christmas... but, look out for some great new stuff next year! Mom made some peppermint pie and it was delicious. My brother and I had to split the last piece... it's a favorite of us both.

By the time I got back to Ohio, there was barely any time left in the night. I heard Holiday Mom & Dad talking about basketball practice in the early morning, so I thought I might tag along to see what it's all about! I hope they don't mind.
I can't believe C & T only have ONE day of school left before Christmas break. I bet the last day of school will be full of fun! I bet they'll have treats and play games and watch movies and drink syrup! Oh, wait, drinking syrup is not a human thing... that's what we Elves do! Speaking of treats, I couldn't help but notice that Holiday Mom was busy baking today. Hope she doesn't mind me taking a nibble of some of her cookies.

I can't wait! I got so excited about it tonight, I decided to decorate the house with Christmas bows! I think it's beautiful... and very festive! I put them everywhere. All of the kitchen got decorated, each and every drawer, cabinet and appliance. I even put some bows in special places I know the boys will visit each morning... like the bathrooms! The place looks GREAT!
Seeing them relax today and play some games got me thinking...so I decided to relax a little tonight and play some Angry Birds Seasons on T's tablet. This is my favorite game, I just love blowing those little guys up.
Thanks T for getting that done and placing it in my bed. It has been safely delivered to The Jolly Guy and is currently under review. (I did happen to catch a glimpse at T's name on the list... looks like he's set on Nice right now! Way to go T!) This is the last week of school for C & T before Christmas break. I bet they'll be so excited to have a nice long break. Make it a good week boys!

While I was at The Pole, I picked up a game to bring back to play with my friends. It's a lot of fun. We play it quite often back home. I noticed tonight that Holiday Mom, Holiday Dad, and T were playing the new card games I brought them. Isn't Reindeer Rummy fun?! I love that game. I also love the Crazy 8's game as well. Hopefully my Holiday family will enjoy playing this game, too.
I got out all of the Christmas movies and some candy and cozied up on the couch with friends for a nice Christmas movie marathon. It was fun... just like always. I snuggled up under my blanket and just relaxed. I heard T talking to Holiday Mom about going to the movies this weekend. There's a new Hobbit movie out and the boys really want to see it. I hope they get to go see the movie! Maybe they'll take me along!
I hopped into Holiday Mom's camera bag and was able to catch the whole show! No one even noticed me poking my head out of the bag. C did a very nice job. The Christmas music was beautiful and, of course, is my favorite music of all... especially when C plays it on his viola.

It is very cold here in Ohio, and I'm afraid I've come down with a bit of the sniffles. I headed back to The Pole to see the doctor. He advised me to stay in bed tonight, take some cold medicine and rest... No Mischief... doctor's orders. Oh well, I suppose it's best to follow the doctor's instructions and get over these sniffles sooner. I'm off to bed for a long winter's nap!
We started the night off by jumping on the couch to see how high we could go. That was a lot of fun... Until Rudy fell off the couch. He's alright though. Didn't break any bones (or antlers). He laughed about it but we decided maybe jumping on the couch wasn't such a great idea after all.

I found some really funny eyes in Holiday Mom's crafting supplies. They are called wiggly eyes. Boy, are they hilarious. We tried holding them up to our own eyes, but it's impossible to see where you are going. I thought it would be fun to see what my Holiday Family looks like with them on. We tried to put them on C & T while they were sleeping but the eyes aren't sticky on the back so we couldn't get them to stay put. Then, Rudy had the great idea to try putting tape on the back of the eyes! Voila! It worked! I was afraid if we tried to tape the eyes to C & T, they would wake up... so we did the next best thing. We put wiggly eyes on their pictures! HA HA HA! They are so funny looking! I put wiggly eyes here and there in the house... I even put wiggly eyes on some of Holiday Mom's Christmas decorations. I wonder if she'll notice.
The boys woke up and couldn't get dressed because I had swapped their clothes! I put all of C's clothes in T's closet and moved T's clothes to C's closet. Then I hid in T's closet to see his reaction. It was hilarious! What a great prank. Thanks Holiday Mom for moving all the clothes back to their correct location while the boys were at school.

It's hard to believe it's only 2 weeks until Christmas! I'm so excited! I noticed my Holiday Family has put up their second Christmas tree in the back room of their house. It's such a great tree. Just full of all sorts of special ornaments that C & T have made at school or ornaments that just have special meaning. I was very happy to see that they put the ornaments I have given to the boys each year on this special tree. It really made me smile.

Tonight we decided to take it easy. I brought some card games from The Pole for my Holiday Family, so we decided to give them a try. They are really very fun games. I hope my Holiday Family can use them during family game night sometime.
I was at The Pole for quite a long time. Serious problems with some visiting elves staying in Switzerland this year. Big trouble. Seems they got into some mischief that was a little rowdy and broke a very lovely glass statue that belonged to their Holiday Mom. She was not pleased with the elves and demanded they return to The Pole. Of course this upset the elves and naturally The Jolly Guy was displeased. He called me back to The Pole to deal with the "situation" since they were elves that I had trained. I smoothed things over and everything is in place now for the elves to return to their visiting home in Switzerland and everything will be alright. That was a close call.

Once I returned to Ohio, it was late and my friends were all too tired to play. So, I decided to just play my own practical joke on C & T. I'm pretty sure they will notice what I've done first thing in the morning. When they're trying to get dressed for school and they realized they have the wrong clothes in their closets. Hee Hee!! It will be so funny!
We tried to race around the entire downstairs in a giant loop, but it's a pretty big circle and we got tired. So we just decided to race from one end of the living room to the other. I won 2 races but Hippity-Hop won the most races. Which I guess isn't surprising since he's a frog! We all laughed and had lots of fun!
Ho! Ho! Made a Wicked Cup of CocoaIt sure is cold here tonight in Ohio. Seemed like a nice night for some cocoa. I decided to get some out of the cupboard and make a nice steaming cup for myself. I found this fun cocoa set while I was looking through the house, but I didn't want to be rude use it first. I set it out so C & T would be able to enjoy a delicious cup of cocoa with marshmallows in the morning.
It even caused C & T to have a day off of school. A snow day! And I love snow days. I decided to make some snowmen and bring a breakfast surprise for C & T at the same time. Hope you boys enjoy these snowmen!
They are good at playing hide and seek... very impressive, boys! While I was hiding, I came across some very interesting toys that I thought would be fun to try out. I see them being made all the time at The Pole. They're very popular toys, but I've never really played with them. Tonight seemed like a good time to try them out and see what all the fuss is about. NERF WAR!! And we had so much fun! Now I see why all the kids put these toys on their Christmas wish lists. (Speaking of Christmas wish lists, don't forget to finish your lists for Santa so I can get them to The Pole!)
Oh, it's so beautiful. They still haven't hung stockings on the mantle yet, but I'm sure they'll be doing that soon.

While I was exploring the house to find more Christmas decorations, I got the idea to play hide and seek with my friends. We played for hours, but during the last round we found Rudy ASLEEP in his hiding spot. I guess it took us too long to find him and he got sleepy. After that, we decided to quit playing and my friends went to bed. I, however, decided to hide one more time so that C & T could find me in the morning. So, good luck boys! I'll give you a hint about where I am going to hide:
I woke up and found I had received a Christmas card from some of my dear friends who are also visiting elves! Thank you Jingle-Jangle, Bertie & Merry for the card! I see that my Holiday family has really started decorating for Christmas now. They put up lights outside and set the Christmas tree up. It's looking good! I found a new game in the house which I'm sure was made just for me! It's called ladderball and I had such fun playing it tonight with my friends.
